There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.~Goodreads
I had picked this book up so many times in the store; read the first couple pages, and never had that “OMG, I need to buy this and finish it” feeling. I hate, hate, hate 3rd person point of view. It’s really hard for me to get into and I never read them. I usually put them down right away. BUT I decided to give Fallen one more chance! So after I stared at the cover for two days straight with out blinking, i opened it and stared to read.

I’m so glad I picked it up again because I really enjoyed Fallen! I adored Luce, she’s strong but also not afraid to show her emotions.  She cares for people and it really shows through her thoughts and dialogue!

One scene that stuck with me and still makes me really sad for some reason is the following:
“The cabin fire had left her scalp singed and her hairline patchy, so after the long, silent ride home from Dover, Mom had planted Luce into the bathtub, brought out Dad’s electric razor, and wordlessly shaved her head.”

I think I just pictured it really well in my head and it was dark & depressing & I hadn’t really read anything like that before.

But on a lighter note! Daniel Grigori -  one word swoon! His attitude toward Luce made me like him more. With them it’s all about the angst, and I loves it!  Plus the kissing scenes- *swoons harder*

If you like angels & fated love (as I like to call it!) then pick this one up!

And In the mean time I am going to stare at the cover for a couple more hours :P
