Wanna play!? All YOU have to do is either answer the question below in the comments -OR- you can grab the banner above, along with the weekly WYR and post the answer on your blog! Let's get started!

WOULD YOU RATHER:

Read a book, fall in love with it, but never be able to read the rest of the series...

OR

Be able to read every single book in a series EXCEPT for the first installment?

My Answer:

EEP! Never be able to read the rest of an awesome series!? Never really quite know how the story started?! AHH! Both of these sound awful. BUT. I have been known to start a series and not continue forward with it. So, I'll say that I'd Rather: Read a book, fall in love with it, but never be ablt to read the rest of the series.

What would YOU rather do?

Blog Tour: QUEEN OF HEARTS by Colleen Oakes: TOP TEN Quotes + GIVEAWAY

Queen of Hearts (Queen of Hearts Saga #1)

ABOUT QUEEN OF HEARTS:
As Princess of Wonderland Palace and the future Queen of Hearts, Dinah’s days are an endless monotony of tea, tarts, and a stream of vicious humiliations at the hands of her father, the King of Hearts. The only highlight of her days is visiting Wardley, her childhood best friend, the future Knave of Hearts — and the love of her life.

When an enchanting stranger arrives at the Palace, Dinah watches as everything she’s ever wanted threatens to crumble. As her coronation date approaches, a series of suspicious and bloody events suggests that something sinister stirs in the whimsical halls of Wonderland. It’s up to Dinah to unravel the mysteries that lurk both inside and under the Palace before she loses her own head to a clever and faceless foe.

Part epic fantasy, part twisted fairy tale, this dazzling saga will have readers shivering as Dinahs furious nature sweeps Wonderland up in the maelstrom of her wrath.

Familiar characters such as Cheshire, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter make their appearance, enchanting readers with this new, dark take on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

1. “Oh my future Queen, you’re late!”

2. Dinah hated this dress. Dinah hated all dresses.

3. Someday this will be my great hall, she told herself.  All these Cards will bow before me when I rule beside my Father.

4. “Listen to me Dinah” he hissed. “Things are going to change for you, child, and you had better be made of stronger stuff than the whiny brat you seem to be now. You may be almost of age to be Queen, but you are not ready.”

5. With a smile, Dinah took in the view of the palace one last time. Her castle was a beauty, a fierce and formidable fortress, lovely and dangerous all at once. One day, Dinah thought, this will all be mine.

6. Dinah sniffed the frosty air again as she made her way through the maze of stalls. Men, hay, and horses – her favorite smells, because they reminded her of him.

7. The Hornhooves scared her; they scared everyone.

8. “Snow on the hat, snow on the hat, black like your Cheshire Cat!”

9. “Dinah listen to me. Criminals go to the Black Towers. Criminals and liars and murderers and people that your father needs to disappear. It is not a place for a princess.” He kissed her knuckles chastely. “My dear friend and future queen, please abandon this.”

10. Her black eyes opened wide as she looked at her own reflection. She was the darkness.

Would You Rather?!

I've only seen a few of these around, and none of them are really a weekly thing. 'Would You Rather' is a game I absolutely love to play so, I thought i'd give a shot at introducing, 'Would You Rather Wednesday!' The question of the week will be bookishly related! All YOU have to do is either answer the question below in the comments -OR- you can grab the banner above, along with the weekly WYR and post the answer on your blog! Let's get started!

WOULD YOU RATHER:

Kill your favorite fictional character...
OR
Kill everyone they love and care about?

My Answer:

GAH! Such a toughy! If you kill your favorite character then they are gone forever...UNLESS, they can come back as a ghost (i.e. Logan Keeley *swoons*) BUT that's still not they same as having them here :(

BUT!? Killing everyone they love and care about?! No, no, no they would spend the rest of their days miserable and suffering and sad. Or, ya know, at least have a big long grieving period.

SO. I think....I would rather....Kill my favorite fictional character. *HORRIFIED GASP*

Blog Tour: Heir to the Sky by Amanda Sun: Review + GIVEAWAY!

About the Book:
Title: HEIR TO THE SKY
Author: Amanda Sun
Release Date: April 26th
Publisher: Harlequin TEEN
As heir to a kingdom of floating continents, Kali has spent her life bound by limits—by her duties as a member of the royal family; by a forced betrothal to the son of a nobleman; and by the edge of the only world she’s ever known—a small island hovering above a monster-ridden earth, long since uninhabited by humans. She is the Eternal Flame of Hope for what’s left of mankind, the wick and the wax burning in service for her people, and for their revered Phoenix, whose magic keeps them aloft.

When Kali falls off the edge of her kingdom and miraculously survives, she is shocked to discover there are still humans on the earth. Determined to get home, Kali entrusts a rugged monster-hunter named Griffin to guide her across a world overrun by chimera, storm dragons, basilisks, and other terrifying beasts. But the more time she spends on earth, the more dark truths she begins to uncover about her home in the sky, and the more resolute she is to start burning for herself.

REVIEW

If you're looking for a book with awesome characters, an amazing world, and unique plot--you need to check out HEIR TO THE SKY!

The story starts off a little slow but immediately picks up as soon as Kali goes plummeting down to the monster ridden earth. The imagery in this book is fantastic! From the lush depictions of the moss and the trees and lakes to the gruesome details of the the monsters, Amanda Sun weaves a beautiful, frightening picture of the world.

The characters in HEIR TO THE SKY are also amazing! Kali is curious and caring and SO FREAKIN' TOUGH. I really enjoyed reading from her point of view. And then there is Griffin....*sighs wistfully* I LOVED Griffin. Talk about some major swoon. He is so, so sweet and understanding and patient. GAH! Griffin is perfect  His relationship with Kali was adorable.
"I want to say everything I can to make his heart lighter."
Also, did I mention that his book is filled with sweet a$$ weapons and B.A. slay scenes?! Because it so is. And OH MY GOODNESS--the twists!? I did NOT see them coming!

HEIR TO THE SKY is filled with monsters, romance, rebels and is a MUST READ!

ABOUT AMANDA SUN:

I’m a YA author and proud Nerdfighter. I was born in Deep River, Canada, a very small town without traffic lights or buses, and where stranger safety is comprised of what to do if you see a bear—or skunk. I started reading fantasy novels at 4 and writing as soon as I could hold a pencil. Hopefully my work’s improved since then.

In university I took English, Linguistics, and Asian History, before settling into Archaeology, because I loved learning about the cultures and stories of ancient people. Of course, I didn’t actually become an archaeologist—I have an intense fear of spiders. I prefer unearthing fascinating stories in the safety of my living room.

The Paper Gods is inspired by my time living in Osaka and travelling throughout Japan. That and watching far too many J-Dramas. I currently live in Toronto with my husband and daughter. When I’m not writing, I’m devouring YA books, knitting nerdy things like Companion Cubes and Triforce mitts, and making elaborate cosplays for anime cons.
