Beatrice "Tris" Prior has reached the fateful age of sixteen, the stage at which teenagers in Veronica Roth's dystopian Chicago must select which of five factions to join for life. Each faction represents a virtue: Candor, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity, and Erudite. To the surprise of herself and her selfless Abnegation family, she chooses Dauntless, the path of courage. Her choice exposes her to the demanding, violent initiation rites of this group, but it also threatens to expose a personal secret that could place in mortal danger. Veronica Roth's young adult Divergent trilogy launches with a captivating adventure about love and loyalty playing out under most extreme circumstances.~Goodreads
The descriptions and imagery and emotion behind every action in this book were so astounding! If you don’t read this book, you’re seriously going to miss out!

Divergent really takes off once Tris arrives at the Dauntless Fraction. She is so fluppin’ bass-ass and tough. She is an absolutely incredible protagonist. I like how she doesn’t sugar coat things. Ever. When things are bad, she admits their bad; when she hates someone, she wants to beat the shit out of them. I just found her really refreshing as a main character!

She's a fighter in every sense of the word. She fights for what she wants, what she believes in, and who she loves. Another thing i really liked about her is that she tries. Even if she's scared shitless, she still does it. Even if she doesn't know how to do something, she still tries. And she doesn't let her fears control her or hold her back FROM trying. The only problem is she has to hide a major fact about herself.... (HA! You thought I would tell you? No, no, no my friend, you must read the book to find out!)

All the secondary characters were awesome too! I hated some *cough, Peter, cough* and I loved some. Tris’s mom for example is magnificent! She has to be one of the best moms I have ever read about. Honestly, if you read this book for one reason, read it to meet Tris’s mom. She’s so loyal and understanding and accepting and just soo...soo...mom-ish! I wanted her to hug me! <-- don’t laugh, it’s true!

Or read this book so you can meet Four! OMG, what can I even say about this boy? *swoon* God, he is just so dang sexy. He pushes Tris to her limits, is totally into her one minute and then ignores her the next, it’s this hot and cold relationship and I just wanted them to kiss the whole damn time!!! There's this one scene where Four and Tris are on a train and and and oh my gosh!!! The boy is so sweet and gah! I want him. I heart him and we are going to go get matching tattoos!

Oh! And speaking of tattoos, reading about Tris getting hers made me want to run out and go get some too! haha!

READ THIS BOOK! IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! I PROMISE YOU!
