Team: Ohmigosh! Def team Will Rutledge! Eeep! i want to marry this boy! *sighs* Doesn't Brooke Lynn Rutledge have a nice right to it?!

A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.

Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.

Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.

Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.~Goodreads

Firelight is AMAZE. Pure brilliance!

I was really skeptical to read this book because A) I didn’t know anything about Dragons & B) I thought I would never have a taste for them. (I was like, “Dungeons & Dragons? umm...no thanks!”) But i picked up Firelight anyway, for two reasons:

       1) The cover! How freakin’ gorgeous is that!
& 2) The back excerpt…*dies, while swooning* I am such a fictional whore it’s not even funny. But go read the back of Firelight & tell me you don’t already love that boy, whoever he may be!

Anyway I can officially say Sophie Jordan converted me to Team Draki!

The imagery all through-out the book was spectacular! Honestly nothing short of breathtaking! "Purple-bruised sky" is one of the most beautiful descriptions I’ve ever read! This book is a fast paced thrill that will have you frantically flipping pages & reading till all hours of the night!

I adored Jacinda, she was strong willed and true to herself. She practically begged to keep apart of herself alive, her Draki. She was willing to risk everything & follow her heart. But her mom wasn’t very supportive or accepting towards either idea. Granted I’m sure she had her reasons, moms always do right? But it still made me upset.

Jacinda and Tamra's relationship is so easy to relate to! The love/hate between sisters was played out perfectly! One minute they hate each other and can't even look at each other. But then, if the other one was down or in trouble they would risk anything to help one another. That’s what sisters are supposed to do!

Next comes Will Rutledge… cue fan-girl review: SQUEEEEEE!!!

*Sighs* Will, oh my hot-tight-wet shirt, Will Rutledge he is....ugh so freakin' sexy! *SWOONS!* Me wants! Will is so sweet and cute and hot and cute and sweet and i loved all the parts he was in!! You know from the very beginning that Will is just a good guy…ah! Such a good guy!

He is absolutely adorable trying to flirt with Jace! But then he skips that & just asks if she wants to go out. A boy who knows what he wants! *dies…..again*

If you want to read like THE most angstiest kisses ever to be written in YA… read this book! Jacinda & Will’s relationship is so steamy!  And I like that Will verbalizes his feelings for Jacinda, it’s not just her that feels the strong connection. Will is needy & that's cute! (real boys, are you taking notes?)

So i basically thought i couldn't be any more in love with Will and then comes Chapter 26 aka Chapter of Hotness!
I have to share some of the best lines in fictional boy history!

  • Swoonage #1: "Tell me you thought about me. That you think about me now."
  • Swoonage #2: “And?” He looks up beneath heavy lids. “What else should I know about you?”                  “My Skin—” I stop, swallow.                            He leans down, presses his lips to my wrist in a feathery kiss. “What about your skin?”

Hot! How could you not be madly in love with this boy! For real. There is no other word to describe him but intense. So intense. Intensely intense. Gahh! He is perfect! <3

Wow…sorry about that, but i had to get it out! If you don’t pick this book up at some point in your life, you quite possibly are missing out on one of the sexiest fictional boys to ever exist! oh, sorry! & for the boy readers there is a lot of action! NO...umm...not that kind of action! Like flying & fighting & hunting & stuff....

but cute fictional boys aside- Firelight is about staying true to yourself & fighting for what you want! It will leave you stunned & will have you spazzing for Vanish! One of my absolute favorites!

The Dark Divine by Bree Despain

A Prodigal Son

A Dangerous Love

A Deadly Secret

Grace Divine—daughter of the local pastor—always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared and her brother Jude came home covered in his own blood.

Now that Daniel's returned, Grace must choose between her growing attraction to him and her loyalty to her brother.

As Grace gets closer to Daniel, she learns the truth about that mysterious night and how to save the ones she loves, but it might cost her the one thing she cherishes most: her soul.~Goodreads
Fantastic. Paranormal. Romance.
That is all. End of Review.

Nah... I’m just playin’! The Dark Divine is fast paced, thrilling & a little scary. It had me not only sitting on the edge of my bed, desk chair and toilet seat, it also had me cheering for my home state again! Score 2 for Minnesota!

So that leads me to A) Why isn’t Minnesota actually as cool as Bree Despain describes it?
And B) Why have I never ran into Daniel Kalbi?!
Oh yea... this is a work of fiction. *sad face*

But anyway. .. no more moping! The characters in this book were awesome. Especially Grace & Daniel. Grace is a strong willed teenager that struggles with the fact her family is put under a spotlight. She wants to live her own life & find out things on her own, but with her dad being the town’s pastor she ends up feeling held back and torn on how she should act.

Then Daniel comes to town & EEEP! He is just one big mystery that is all witty lines & dark sexy eyes! Ah, LOVE! I like how him & Grace have a past. It’s like a mini-reunion but things have changed & Daniel’s not telling, but Grace is determined to get to the bottom of it! So i pretty much loved how their relationship developed, getting to know each again! I personally loved Daniel from the very first time him appears in the book. but other characters seem to have a slight problem with him, like Grace’s older brother Jude.

Jude is wonderful.. . at first. He is the protective older brother, who does charity & helps at the church, plus he is hot. No denying that! But as the storyline progresses we fine some things out about him that aren’t very nice. . . or protective. Yikes. Read this book to find out what I mean! (tease! I know!)

The only thing that slightly bugged me was April. I just questioned her friendship at times. I feel like she was only there for Grace to get close to Jude. I hope she is better in The Lost Saint…which I need to read asap!

If you like hot, mysterious boys with devious smiles & the nice girls who fall for them, then The Dark Divine is for you!

SPOLIER: HOW FREAKIN’ SWEET & GENIUS IS DANIEL’S MOONSTONE NECKLACE!? SO WHEN THERE IS A FULL MOON HE HAS A PIECE OF MOON CLOSE TO HIM TO HELP CONTROL HIS WOLF TENDENCIES?? AMAZE. JUST AMAZE! HOW THE HECK DID BREE EVEN THINK OF THAT!?

the cold.
Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.

Shiver was not only the first wolf book I ever read, it was also the first book that introduced me to this thing called alternating point-of-view. And let me tell you, it was MAGIC!

This story has wolves, conflict, hospital visits, bookstores, candy shops (oh! the candy shop! *swoons!*), girl-wolf angst, blood, fur, tears, laughs, kisses, dare I say bedroom visits?! & yes, it takes place in good ole Minnesota! Score 1 for my home state! Shiver honestly has it all!

These wolves are unique, they shift based on the weather, not the full moon. Cold = Wolf, Warm = Human. You see how this can be a problem? MinneSNOWta is so cold, we all freeze our nips off until the end of April…no joke. So Sam & Grace’s relationship is sort of based off this fact. Sam has to stay warm in order not to shift…so him and Grace might do some.... things to keep warm *wink, wink*! But all jokes aside Maggie creates a world that is intense & frantic it’s absolutely impossible not to get caught up in it!

I’m just going to throw this out there & feel free to disagree (even though I.am.right!) Shiver has THE BEST ENDING OF ALL TIME. It literally punched me in the gut, not once, but twice. I was so side swiped by the ending I didn’t even know it was possible to become so shocked. I am serious. Maggie wrote the ending in such a fantastic way it makes you think one thing....but...that's all I’m going to say. IT. WAS. AWESOME. I still think about that ending all the time!

If you like cute boys who shift into a big cuddle-muff of fur when it's cold out, pick this UP!

Break by Hannah Moskowitz

Break
Break
Author: Hannah Moskowitz

Rating: 4 Stars!
Jonah is on a mission to break every bone in his body. Everyone knows that broken bones grow back stronger than they were before. And Jonah wants to be stronger—needs to be stronger—because everything around him is falling apart. Breaking, and then healing, is Jonah’s only way to cope with the stresses of home, girls, and the world on his shoulders.

When Jonah's self-destructive spiral accelerates and he hits rock bottom, will he find true strength or surrender to his breaking point?~Goodreads

Reason #1 why i loved Break: It’s written in Jonah’s POV, and he is amazing! Break is a story about struggle & control. Jonah feels the only thing he has control over in his life is breaking his bones. His logic? Break bones->heal->grow stronger. His goal is to break every bone in his body once. Sad right?

The descriptions in this book are absolutely awesome! Some scenes made me get the willies! Naomi, Jonah’s best friend, tapes all of the “breakings” on her video camera, so together her and Jonah keep track of what bones have been broken and how many times.
NAS-TEE! I felt like Naomi was messed up in the head, she would always encourage & almost force Jonah into breaking bones. What kind of friend does that?? I’ll tell you what kind, not a good one!

The brotherly bond in this book is not only adorable but kind of inspiring! All Jonah wants to do is protect his younger brother Jesse, who is majorly allergic to almost everything. Jonah feels it is his responsibility to keep Jesse away from anything that might cause his brother to go into anaphylactic shock. Then on the other hand, Jesse also feels the need to protect Jonah. Jesse finds it utterly stupid that Jonah goes out regularly to break his bones to feel in control & begs him multiple times to stop.

My only objections are that I wish the relationship between Jonah and Charlotte would of developed more, because I am a sucker for a good romance! & I liked her! Also the ending felt like it was missing something… the whole book was intense and fast paced but towards the end it sort of just died down.

Overall though, a super great book with tons of F-bombs to go around!

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Divergent (Divergent #1)Divergent (Divergent #1)
Author: Veronica Roth
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Pages: 487
Rating: 5 Stars!
Beatrice "Tris" Prior has reached the fateful age of sixteen, the stage at which teenagers in Veronica Roth's dystopian Chicago must select which of five factions to join for life. Each faction represents a virtue: Candor, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity, and Erudite. To the surprise of herself and her selfless Abnegation family, she chooses Dauntless, the path of courage. Her choice exposes her to the demanding, violent initiation rites of this group, but it also threatens to expose a personal secret that could place in mortal danger. Veronica Roth's young adult Divergent trilogy launches with a captivating adventure about love and loyalty playing out under most extreme circumstances.~Goodreads
The descriptions and imagery and emotion behind every action in this book were so astounding! If you don’t read this book, you’re seriously going to miss out!

Divergent really takes off once Tris arrives at the Dauntless Fraction. She is so fluppin’ bass-ass and tough. She is an absolutely incredible protagonist. I like how she doesn’t sugar coat things. Ever. When things are bad, she admits their bad; when she hates someone, she wants to beat the shit out of them. I just found her really refreshing as a main character!

She's a fighter in every sense of the word. She fights for what she wants, what she believes in, and who she loves. Another thing i really liked about her is that she tries. Even if she's scared shitless, she still does it. Even if she doesn't know how to do something, she still tries. And she doesn't let her fears control her or hold her back FROM trying. The only problem is she has to hide a major fact about herself.... (HA! You thought I would tell you? No, no, no my friend, you must read the book to find out!)

All the secondary characters were awesome too! I hated some *cough, Peter, cough* and I loved some. Tris’s mom for example is magnificent! She has to be one of the best moms I have ever read about. Honestly, if you read this book for one reason, read it to meet Tris’s mom. She’s so loyal and understanding and accepting and just soo...soo...mom-ish! I wanted her to hug me! <-- don’t laugh, it’s true!

Or read this book so you can meet Four! OMG, what can I even say about this boy? *swoon* God, he is just so dang sexy. He pushes Tris to her limits, is totally into her one minute and then ignores her the next, it’s this hot and cold relationship and I just wanted them to kiss the whole damn time!!! There's this one scene where Four and Tris are on a train and and and oh my gosh!!! The boy is so sweet and gah! I want him. I heart him and we are going to go get matching tattoos!

Oh! And speaking of tattoos, reading about Tris getting hers made me want to run out and go get some too! haha!

READ THIS BOOK! IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! I PROMISE YOU!

Waiting on Wednesday

Oh my gosh my first meme! I feel so legit right now! I've stalked other people's blogs for awhile (Creeper & Proud of it!) & i have always loved the Waiting on Wednesday posts! Being a major fan girl, i like WoW because it gives me a chance to do this: SQUEEEE! and a little of this: Eeeeep! So thank you to Jill over at Breaking the Spine for hosting this awesome weekly event where we can gush over books we are dying to read! With out further ado my first WoW:

Deadly Little Voices (Touch #4)
High school junior Camelia thought her powers of psychometry only gave her the ability to sense the future through touch. But now she’s started to hear voices. Mean voices. Berating her, telling her how ugly she is, and that she’d be better off dead. It’s a troubling
development that has Camelia terrified for her mental stability, especially since her deranged aunt with a suicidal history just moved into the family house. More torturing, ex-boyfriend Ben, who has similar psychometric abilities, has been spending more time with their classmate Alejandra, even as her own feelings for Adam grow stronger. Still, the bond between Camelia and Ben is palpable.

With the line between right and wrong fraying, Camelia turns to pottery to get a grasp on her emotions. She begins sculpting a beautiful figure skater, only to receive frightening premonitions that someone’s in danger. But who is the victim? And how can Camelia help them when she is on the brink of losing her own sanity?~Goodreads

I absolutely love, love, love this series! The first three were totally amazeballs! All of them are creepy as eff, after the second one i could NOT read them at night any more. For Realzz. They are totally chilling. But don't worry, things get hot again once Ben comes into a scene! & now, with Camelia's feelings for Adam growing stronger, we have TWICE the hotness! I can't wait to see how the story develops & where Camelia's choices lead her. Plus i needs some more Kimmie & Wes in my life- because they crack me up! Be on the look out for this one in December 2011!

While we're on the topic of creepy awesome books i am also super duper (do people still say that?) well, it's true, i am superdy duperdy excited for this book:

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna Dressed in Blood, #1)Anna Dressed in Blood (#1)

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill.
Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn't expect anything outside of the ordinary: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

But she, for whatever reason, spares Cas's life.~Goodreads

*stares* *mouth agape* Look. AT. THAT. COVER. *drools* It's made of total win, am i right?! & if the cover doesn't want to make you read it, the synopsis sure will! Umm YAY, it's in a guys POV! I heart guys POV's sooo much! EEEP! Plus this book sounds so Supernaturalish! Does it not remind you of the Winchester boys? It's totally Season One, Pilot! so i am pretty much in loves already! & Kari over at A Good Addiction  just finished it & will not stop tweeting about how epic it is! Def a MUST read! Pick it up this August!

Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel

Infinite Days (Vampire Queen #1)
Author: Rebecca Maizel
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin
Pages: 310
Rating: 5 Stars!
Team: Rhode Lewin
Lenah Beaudonte is, in many ways, your average teen: the new girl at Wickham Boarding School, she struggles to fit in enough to survive and stand out enough to catch the eye of the golden-boy lacrosse captain. But Lenah also just happens to be a recovering five-hundred-year-old vampire queen. After centuries of terrorizing Europe, Lenah is able to realize the dream all vampires have -- to be human again. After performing a dangerous ritual to restore her humanity, Lenah entered a century-long hibernation, leaving behind the wicked coven she ruled over and the eternal love who has helped grant her deep-seated wish.

Until, that is, Lenah draws her first natural breath in centuries at Wickham and rediscovers a human life that bears little resemblance to the one she had known. As if suddenly becoming a teenager weren’t stressful enough, each passing hour brings Lenah closer to the moment when her abandoned coven will open the crypt where she should be sleeping and find her gone. As her borrowed days slip by, Lenah resolves to live her newfound life as fully as she can. But, to do so, she must answer ominous questions: Can an ex-vampire survive in an alien time and place? What can Lenah do to protect her new friends from the bloodthirsty menace about to descend upon them? And how is she ever going to pass her biology midterm?~Goodreads
I loved Infinite Days soo much! It was too good. Honestly I was really skeptical about reading it because I thought it would just be “another vampire book” but I was completely wrong!

Infinite Days is so original and fascinating, I could not put it down! I started it late on a Monday night- had to sleep -then skipped my Tuesday classes to finish it!(Reading > School)

I don’t even know where to begin. I am usually not one for “historical fiction” or anything with an early period background but I found myself loving the flash back parts the best! You get sucked so easily it actually feels like you are in the story and the months are dragging on. (in a good way! If that makes sense?)

Oh yeaH & any scene with Rhode... *swoons!* SQUEEE! I LOVE Rhode! One of my favorite scenes is also when she is talking about her tattoo:
“Rhode’s handwriting etched into my skin with ink, blood, candle flam, and a small needle.”
UMmm- I want a Rhode tatt!

Then, while Lenah goes to school we meet Tony!  He was freakin’ funny as hell and I wish I had a friend like him! He has a total crush on Lenah the whole time and it’s absolutely adorable! But then….

Oh, what? You’re expecting me to tell you? Um…no, go pick this book up! If you want to know what happens with Tony…DUN-dun-DUUUUn

We also meet Justin, who is another love interest & I’m not hatin’ him. He was actually a really good guy & believed Lenah and stayed by her side. But like I said: TEAM RHODE!

The ending of the book had so much packed into it i thought I would die of crazyitis! For real, so much went down, I was like “DAAAYMM!”

It ends in an absolutely dreadful spot! NO worries though, The first chapter of Stolen Nights is in the back! There is still no synopsis for the second book, but perhaps it’s about “Stolen Nights” between Rhode & Lenah?? Hmm hmm hmm?! Plus the cover of Stolen Nights is absolutely gorge! I can’t wait for the next installment in this series! Finally vampires are awesome again!

Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2)
Crescendo (Hush, Hush #2)
Author: Becca Fitzpatrick
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing
Pages: 427
Rating: 4 Stars!
Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but atleast she got a guardian angel out of it: a mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But, despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever and even worse, he's started spending time with Nora's arch-enemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Path hadnt been acting so distant. Even with Scott's totally infuriating attitude Nora finds herself drawn to him - despite her lingering feeling that he's hiding something.

Haunted by images of her murdered father, and questioning whether her nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death, Nora puts herself increasingly in dangerous situations as she desperatly searches for answers. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything - and everyone - she trusts.~Goodreads

*Sings* Then he struck you a crescendo Annie  sorry every time I see this book I sing that!

Any whoo- where do I even begin? Oh that’s right-  I HATE Marcie Millar. Just when I thought I couldn’t like her any less she takes up all my patience in Crescendo. IF you didn’t like her in the first book, brace yourself; she is back and ten times more bitchy and rude. She is also in the book way too much for my liking.

Nora, I still love her. I understand why she acted the way she did. Sure some of her decisions were a little premature but I give her credit for sticking with them. Plus she gets in a fight with Marcie…so we koo (slang for cool? Is that form of cool actually not cool?)

The reason for Nora’s problems, one word….Patch! Why do I want to slap him and kiss him at the same time? The boy is entirely to irresistible for his own good.  All I am going to say is that at the end of the day Patch is a guy…a very stupid & userish type of guy…but none the less sexy. If that’s wrong…then I dot not want to be right! Plus we find out his real name! *swoons!*

This book doesn’t have as much action as the last, but there is still enough to keep you on edge! With the introduction of new characters, problems with old characters, romance troubles & crazy revelations this book definitely lives up to the first one!

Oh yes! & look out for the HORRIBLY WONDERFUL CLIFFY! AHHH!

P.S. (NOW STANDS FOR PATCH SEXINESS) I CANNOT wait for the last installment in the series, SILENCE in stores October 4th, 2011! Talk about a treat!

(Get it, because it's close to Halloween, and there is candy‘n stuff and people say “trick-or-treat”. I’m sure  you got it… okay umm…thanks for reading this review! Comment!…or not?)

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1)

Rating: 5 Stars!
For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.~Goodreads
I loved Hush, Hush because it made angels hot! Patch is sexy as hell and the tension between him and Nora is steamin'. When I wasn’t laughing at the banter, I was drooling over the romance, or freakin’ over the suspense!

When i picked up Hush Hush it was because i was sick of vampires, i needed something new. But i did not expect for it to be so amazing! It hooked me on angels!

I liked Nora because she has frizzy curly hair and I do too! But that’s beside the point. Why I really like her is because she didn’t fall for Patch right away, sure he is attractive but she also sees how cocky and full of himself he is. She takes precautions and doesn’t leave him out as a suspects for the weird things that seem to be happening. Plus she has no problem questioning him about it.  She is not afraid to harass a brotha!

eeeep! & Patch- Well…all I can say is… *swoons!* He is a fallen, motor cycle riding, scar baring, sly smiling, pool-playing angel. HOT! There are so many times I re-read his lines because they were too witty and cunning! He could charm a girl right out of her socks!  He made the book for me!

Hush, Hush is filled with twists and turns and I had NO idea what was going to happen next. The characters are fun and loveable, the setting contemporary and cool, the plot mysterious and hot! (mostly thanks to Patch!) Pick up this book!

Clara Knowles, Gloria’s goody-two-shoes cousin, has arrived to make sure the high-society wedding comes off without a hitch—but Clara isn’t as lily-white as she appears. Seems she has some dirty little secrets of her own that she’ll do anything to keep hidden. . .

Lorraine Dyer, Gloria’s social-climbing best friend, is tired of living in Gloria’s shadow. When Lorraine’s envy spills over into desperate spite, no one is safe. And someone’s going to be very sorry. . . .

From debut author Jillian Larkin, VIXEN is the first novel in the sexy, dangerous, and ridiculously romantic new series set in the Roaring Twenties . . . when anything goes.~Goodreads

I was really surprised at how good this book was! I first read about it in the paperback copy of Fallen, there was a little preview in the back of the book! Then i received an ARC and was basically glued to the pages! The whole 1920's stuff was totally cool & I want to be a flapper so bad now!

I didn't think i would like it because it's written in 3rd person and follows 3 different girls stories. But i honestly think it's what made the book! All the girls were completely and totally different & each chapter rotated between them, so i never got bored!

I loved Gloria the best. She was just this cutesy girl, and then you see her grow up and mature. She definitely breaks out of her shell! Clara was my next favorite, when she wasn't being a bitch/liar! I just liked her chapters because they had Marcus in them! oh Marcus... that’s all i'll say about that (plus i'll add a *swoons!*)
Then we have Lorraine... and i don't want to ruin the story but she is a horrible friend...

The ending was FANTASTIC. The action picks up and a ton of other story lines develop! Really great segue-way into the next book!
Pick up this book if you like  equal parts suspense, romance, and jazz!

Team: LOGAN! <3 Sexiest boy ever!
Love ties them together. Death can't tear them apart.

Best. Birthday. Ever. At least, it was supposed to be. With Logan's band playing a critical gig and Aura's plans for an intimate after-party, Aura knows it will be the most memorable night of her boyfriend's life. She never thought it would be his last.

Logan's sudden death leaves Aura devastated. He's gone.

Well, sort of.

Like everyone born after the Shift, Aura can see and hear ghosts. This mysterious ability has always been annoying, and Aura had wanted nothing more than to figure out why the Shift happened so she can undo it. But not with Logan's violet-hued spirit still hanging around. Because dead Logan is almost as real as ever. Almost.

It doesn't help that Aura's new friend Zachary is so understanding—and so very alive. His support means more to Aura than she cares to admit.

As Aura's relationships with the dead and the living grow ever complicated, so do her feelings for Logan and Zachary. Each holds a piece of Aura's heart...and clues to the secret of the Shift.~ Goodreads....umm more like GREAT READS for this book! :)

So, this is my favoritest book ever. Ever. EVER!  Shade is absolutely stunning. Magnificent is also good word for it. Wondrous would work well too. No,  no  it’s AMAZBATABULOUS!  (amaze balls & fantabulous! I really don’t know how else to describe it!  This book is in a league of it’s own. I love it so, so much. I don’t think “love” is a strong enough word!

Shade has everything, its witty, cute, HOT (man, some of the scenes…are they even legal to write? My pages almost burst into flames due to excessive hotness!) Oh yes, and this book is so heart-wrenchingly sad, I was an emotional wreck for days. No. Lie.

The characters in this book are so amazing, i swear to goodness i have never read i story where the characters were so well developed. I want to be friends with Aura! She is one of those characters you just want to be happy. She is so down-to-earth and just comes across as being such a nice & genuine person. That poor girl goes through so much in this book….you cant help feeling sorry for her. If you don’t like Aura...then I don’t like you. FOR. REAL. Aura is bomb. I mean she has to deal with seeing ghosts, my boyfriends…umm…I mean… her boyfriends death, stupid shit people say about said death, her (at times) unsupportive aunt, and a hot Scottish boy that wants to jump her bones. I don’t know how she managed to make it to the end of the book, if I was her I would have had a nervous breakdown (OH, WAIT! I did.) She is one strong girl, but Logan’s death, she is so conflicted you can't help but feel that way too.

Even though Logan was only alive for what, the first three chapters, I was already IN LOVE with him. When he died…it had to be the worst moment in book history. I knew it was going to happen, I knew it was coming, but it still crushed my heart.  AH! Why Logan, why!? *cries!* Excuse me… *sniffle* can I please have a minute….

Never have I EVER been so enamored by a character. Logan’s scenes literally, like, touch my SOUL. I have also never been so moved or overwhelmed by a character like I have Logan. Something about him is just so uniquely amazing....Anything & everything he does or says I re-read like 26 times because he is just that incredible. It must be the exceptional way in which Jeri writes….but honestly….I think he’s actually real….and she keeping him from me! :P

Besides Logan, the other boy is pretty fantastic too! Zachary was there for me….errr…I mean he was there for Aura when she needed him the most. And he was sweet and funny and had that damn sexy accent! I think Zach is good for Aura….but….Logan just owns my heart! Forever.

I could basically talk about this mind-blowing book for days because, “it’s amazing and horrible and bizarre and beautiful.”

This was my first supernatural ghost story and it left me speechless! (mostly because I was too busy crying!) With so many vampire & werewolf  *gag* stories out there these days, I think Shade literally shines brighter than all of them. The storyline actually has MEANING and DEPTH to it, you can’t help but love it once you read it. I could not recommend this book anymore. If you don’t read it, you are truly missing out on one of THE best stories ever written!

I promise you will NOT be disappointed and if you are... well then... you can give me a virtual slap! (but that will NOT happen!)
