I seriously felt so bad for them. It’s below effing zero degrees, they’re scared as eff and the chance of them being rescued is...slim. But somehow they both stay positive. Or at least, when one wasn’t positive the other one was!

And I absolutely adored Paul. He was super arrogant but also just the sweetest thing. I totally ended up falling for him and so did Jane.

In the six days they’re stranded together they share so much more than just a sleeping bag....in the cold...at night...for the body heat…. ;)

Ehem! Moving on, so Jane shares her past with Paul and he spills his hopes, fears and regrets too. Their time together was so freaking precious. They were all cute and cuddly one second and then they’d bicker and banter the next. *sighs* I love bi-polar relationships. :P

Anywhoooo, so the second step towards survival? Get to higher ground—a mountaintop where they can be seen. But it’s not that easy and the mountain throws obstacles in Jane and Paul’s way....leading to one of them not quite making it out.

With an ending that broke my heart and had me in tears, Survive will stick with me for a long time. And I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a suspenseful romantic survival story! (say that ten times fast!)

WARNING: FAN GIRL BABBLE AHEAD.

Brilliant, beautiful, breath-taking, magical, and magnificent. I don’t even know how to explain the epicness that was this book. I can’t even pinpoint what exactly made it so fantastically great. I just.....can’t.

I’d also like to let you know that I may be a tad bit bias because I’ve always absolutely loved Tiger Lily. And this book makes no exception. She’s incredibly fierce and quietly defiant and I don’t even think those descriptions can do her justice. Something about her is just so intense and amazing...I can’t explain it.

In her tribe Tiger Lily is shunned because her people think she’s cursed.  The only ones who stick by her side are Tik Tok (the tribe's Shaman and Tiger Lily’s adoptive father) and a boy her age named Pine Sap. Pine Sap is also looked down upon because, physically, he’s very small—and to the tribe that’s not acceptable. So he and Tiger Lily form this unspoken bond. He’s very open with his feelings and it’s impossible not to tell that he's in love with Tiger Lily. And although she doesn’t reciprocate those feelings, Pine Sap stays by her side through out the entire story and I really liked him! 

Oh! Another person who’s always by Tiger Lily’s side is Tinkerbell! The story is actually told from Tinkerbell’s point of view. And at first I didn’t think I would like that but I eventually grew to love it. I think by having someone other than Tiger Lily or Peter narrate you’re able to see all different sides of the story.  And I also liked getting to know Tink better. She’s SO loyal to Tiger Lily that it’s absolutely adorable!

(I know I shouldn’t have done this but I kept comparing the book with the movie and all of Tink’s actions kind of totally make sense now. I’m pretty sure in the movie Tink wasn’t opposed to Tiger Lily and Peter! You know that part when they do that cute little nosey nosey thing? She doesn’t pull them a part…so HA!)

Any way, when Peter first captures Tiger Lily, I seriously got goose bumps. He's basically a savage and he’s not the Peter Pan you know...but he’s even better.

He’s such a complex person. His thoughts and actions are all over the place and he’s kind of just a mess. But he’s strong and he’s brave and he seems fearless to Tiger Lily. Yet, at times, he’s very naive and vulnerable. Peter NEEDS somebody to need him. I think that’s why he works so well as the leader of the lost boys because they look up to him and need his opinion and direction.

I can’t describe the relationship between Peter and Tiger Lily in any other way then to say it was magic. There’s this spark between them that grows quickly and you can’t help but love them together. Peter and Tiger Lily are very similar; they’re both wild, headstrong and tough which causes them to end up at odds sometimes. So, I wasn’t expecting their relationship to be filled with so much devotion. There were scenes between them that were so raw and powerful and tender that it made my heart ache. They were just perfection.

But on one of the nights that Tiger Lily sneaks off to meet the lost boys, a mermaid  warns her that it’s in Peter’s nature to disappoint people. Peter will eventually end up hurting Tiger Lily and there’s no way she can stop it. So. After that lovely statement, I was dreading the turn that the story would take.

I don’t want to give too much else away but I will say that I hate Wendy. Tiger Lily and Peter went together so well and then stupid Wendy had to come and ruin everything. And UGH! The times Tiger Lily didn’t go to meet Peter...for the reasons she wasn’t meeting him. Ugh! The way it ended...pierced my heart! I bawled my eyes out.

After reading this book, I want more retellings from Jodi because she did a fan-fucking-tastic job! The imagery was amazing, the emotional depth of each character was stunning and gah! I’ve been waiting for this story for the longest time. The way it was written was so lyrical and beautiful and oh god, it was just incredible.

So...incase you couldn’t tell, i hearted this book hard. I MOST DEFINITELY TIMES INFINITY recommend it!

This book broke my heart in a hundred and sixty-five different ways. It’s the first book I’ve read that’s shown the emotional and the physical effects of bullying and it really got to me.

Noelle is constantly bullied at her school. Whether it’s because of the outfit she wore that day or the sandwich she packed, there’s always this punk ass kid, Warner, there to make her feel like crap. She’d much rather avoid lunchtime humiliation and I can attest that when you have no friends in your lunch period, the bathroom seems like a good option. And that’s where Noelle finds herself, avoiding the cafeteria and eating her lettuce sammie in the girl’s room. *insert sniffle*

But then good ol’Simon Bruckner comes along! And he invites her to join the school’s literary magazine, which they’d have to work on during the lunch period. HUZZAH! An offer Noelle can’t pass up! I saw Simon as a Godsend and I think Noelle did too! He’s just this super nice kid and I personally loved him and his skinny ties! :P

Considering that Noelle bypasses the lunchroom you’d think she’d be in the clear right? Wrong. Warner wasn’t the worst of her problems, there’s also a witch named Carly. And she threatens/verbally attacks Noelle almost on a daily basis. Oh my gosh. I wanted to reach through the pages and strangle her. She was terrible.

The underlying problem for Noelle is that she’s living in this community where everyone is extremely wealthy and she’s very low class. She can’t afford healthy food, “stylish clothes” or even feminine products.  She uses a crate as a nightstand, and she’s lucky if she sneaks a shower in the morning or if her laundry gets done. She’s embarrassed by all of this, so she tries to hide it from everyone, even her best friend. Oh! And she also has an absolutely horrific mother. For some reason I just can’t deal with mom’s who neglect their kids. At home, Noelle is basically invisible unless her mom wants to go off on some kind of tangent. I will not accept this. *insert chest pains*

Thank heavens for her best friend, Sherae, though! Even if it took awhile for Noelle to open up to Sherae, she eventually did. Sherae was there to pick up some of the pieces and was just a really good friend. (I very much would like to go over to her house for some chocolate cake.)

Throughout the book there’s also this adorably nice boy named Julian. *sighs* He’s the sweetest little thing. He was always giving Noelle compliments or talking to her about things she loves, and then...one night...he calls her and asks her out! Problem is, she’s sorta secretly seeing a douche-tool named, Matt. UGH. That was the suckiest relationship in the history of ever. For multiple reasons. Thank goodness it ended.

After her fall out with Matt comes a turning point the story. A scene where a couple of girls ambush Noelle at the bus stop and shoot paintballs at her.  It was so painful to read. Not only because she actually got attacked but because she actually thought the guns were real. She didn’t even attempt to run.  She didn’t even try to fight for her life in that moment. Giving up would’ve been easier. *insert MASSIVE tears here*

THIS POOR GIRL. I don’t want to give too much else away except that something major happens to someone Noelle knows and it kind of changes her whole perspective. She learns that she needs to stand up not only for herself but for other people who are bullied as well.

By the end of the book she also learns that keeping people at a distance isn’t the best way to live and she finally let’s Julian into her life.  He is perfection. He’s passionate about the things he loves, he’s considerate of other people and he gives Noelle a second chance. HEARTS, HEARTS, HEARTS. I heart him.

Overall, Keeping Holding On is a powerful story about never giving up and learning to stand up for yourself. With loveable characters, deep-rooted issues and a bit of romance, this book packs an emotional punch! I definitely recommend it!

TEAM TUCKER! Ehem...I mean.....TEAM TUCKER!!! Okay, I guess that is what I mean.

Guys, this book. THIS BOOK. It broke my heart. I laughed, I swooned, and I squeed but....I also got my heart stomped on, my hopes crushed and tear stains on my copy.

This series is one of my absolute favorites. I can NOT even begin to describe to you how much I love it. I just dooooo! And this sequel did NOT let me down. Cynthia Hand delivers again with an incredible story and amazing characters!

You guys! Hallowed was one huge emotional rollercoaster. WAH! There was this one part...oh my gosh...INSTANT TEARS! *sniffs* Did I mention the condition of my heart during this one? Broken...into sixty five thousand pieces.

In this installment there's also a whole bunch of Christian, and don’t get me wrong, I liked learning more about him. I think he’s a great person, and a wonderful friend to Clara. Key word being FRIEND. That’s it. Nothing more, maybe something a little less... :P

But I’m just one hundred and fifty seven hundred percent Team Tuck. Forever and always. I fell SUPER HARD for him in Unearthly and he’s perfection to me. He’s hilarious and sweet and respectful and sexy and *huffs* I want to marry him! He deserves someone who can treat him right, and I believe that would be me! My only complaint about this book is that there was not nearly enough of my adorable Avery!

One thing I’m super curious about is what’s going on with Jeffery! I felt so bad for him in this one! That POOR KID! WHY CAN’T WE JUST REACH THROUGH THE PAGES AND HUG OUR FAVORITE CHARACTERS?!

As for the ending....it took me by total surprise! I was not expecting the story to take the turn that it did. D:  

But ANYWAY! I’m anxiously awaiting/slightly dreading the final book in this series. Oh, god! I am going to bawl my eyes out!! My Tucker better get his Carrots! ;)

Everneath is a book that will suck you in from the very first page and keep you captivated until the very last. With it’s brilliant story-line, amazing characters, breath-taking romance and crazy plot twists, it’s basically impossible to it down!

I loved the way this book was written. Told from Nikki’s point of view not only in present tense, but also in past tense, I thought it really gave the storyline a lot of depth. I loved Ashton’s spin on the mythology as well! I loved the idea of Everlivings and that they had this 'need to feed'. I loved these creepy Shade things that were connected to these even more creepy Tunnels... there were so many awesome concepts in this book and i love them all!  Hard.

Brodi Ashton is also incredible a depicting emotions! I FELT everything Nikki did. Like when her ex-boyfriend, Jack, says "Hi" for the first time, my. heart. stopped. Why was I so nervous!? Because Nikki was nervous! Swear to God! And of course Jack was totally gorgeous (EYEBROW PIERCING!! SO. HOT!)  and he was funny and he made me grin like an idiot. Yet he was so utterly broken and all I wanted to do was reach through the pages and hug him. 

But then there's Cole, and he’s this sexy, sarcastic, cocky musician who rides a motorcycle. Need I say more?!?! He also has a sweet side and would do almost anything to make sure Nikki was ok, to take away her pain. Underneath Cole’s bad boy exterior he’s just extremely vulnerable and lonely and I think that’s why I fell for him too. I just couldn’t bring myself to hate him. I am most definitely a Cole Cuddler! :P

So DUDES! I honestly can't pick a team! I love both boys. A. LOT. And that's when you know a book is completely amazing. :P

And the ending?!?! I canNOT believe the ending!! I seriously wanted to cry!! My. Heart. My heart!!!  This book did things to my heart! *SOBS* Alls I’m saying is that Beck's better kick some ass in the sequel! You seriously NEED to pick up this book! It's a stunning debut that will not disappoint, i promise!

THIS REVIEW IS SOME WHAT SPOILERY IF YOU HAVEN’T READ WOLFSBANE.

This book blew me away, it was fierce and heartbreaking and sexy and funny and just amazing.

Andrea Cremer’s imagery never fails to leave me breathless and in Bloodrose she does not disappoint! There were multiple locations in which the characters had to travel to and all of them were gorgeously described. I was totally amazed at the beauty and danger of each destination! Seriously! (UM. Two words: FIRE. WOLVES. Yeaaah. They were sweet as eff, yo!). Andrea knows when there needs to be a lengthy description or when there only needs to be a few words. Brilliant writing as always!

Now for the best part of this WHOLE. ENTIRE. SERIES. Ren. Renier Laroche. *sighs* He will ALWAYS be one of my favoritest fictional boys. Ever. The boy is too incredibly sexy for words. And he matures a ton in this book. He made me so proud! He was considerate and thoughtful and really showed what an amazing Alpha he could be. And oh my goodness! When he met Adne he was adorable! He took on the role of protective big brother so perfectly! GAH! Did I mention I love this boy!? I do, i do! SOOO MUCH!!

As for Shay, well, I despise Shay more than any other literary character. Ever. Sooo...yeeeeeah.

This book twisted my gut and made me feel so many...things. That’s what made it so incredible, that it could evoke so many emotions from me. I laughed, I screamed, I cried, I died. Yeah, there was a lot crying and OH! A lot of squeeing too because....

ETHAN & SABINE ARE PERFECTION AND THEY ARE THE CUTEST COUPLE EVER AND THEY MAKE ME SO HAPPY!! They saved this book for me! I NEED them to get a spin-off! AHH! How about a Searchers spin-off!? With Connor & Ande tooo! OMG! Who’s with me!?!

Annnyway, to me, this book DID have two major drawbacks. And I can’t tell you either one of them because they are GIGANTIC SPOILERS. Both of them are towards the end of the book and both of them deal with Calla’s love interests. Annnd that’s all I’ll say about that!

Dudes. After I finished the epilogue I was legit depressed for days! GAH. I suppose it was a fitting ending to Calla’s story though. I guess. I don't know, i'm still trying to figure out how i feel about it. 

So even though this book definitely did NOT end how I would’ve liked it to, it was still amazing. I would be lying if I said this book wasn’t epic. Because it was totally epic. And if you liked the first two books in this series than you canNOT miss the conclusion!

This book was a roller coaster of emotions; so hilariously funny one second yet so heartbreakingly sad the next.  Cold Kiss is Wren’s touching story about loss, fixing her own mistakes and letting go.

The little things in this story are what made me connect to Wren the most! As soon as I read the following passage I KNEW I would love her:

“He’s making me nervous, which is making me angry, because he’s just a boy, a stupid new boy who doesn’t know anyone and is probably fascinated by something equally stupid, like my beat-up Chucks or the fading black heart Danny drew in Sharpie on the back of my left hand two days ago.”  ARC Pg 26

I don’t know, maybe because I draw on myself with Sharpie all the time, and get nervous/pissed when boys stare at me, it made her seem relatable and like...well, a teenager. She’s also very funny and sarcastic, and I love me a snarky protag! Wren is also INCREDIBLY STONG! She holds herself together on the outside amazingly well. Although she makes a HUGE mistake in the book, I feel like she’s a protagonist that readers can look up to. She’s extremely loyal and passionate and RESPONSIBLE!  She takes all the blame for what she does and she doesn’t want to drag anyone else down with her problems.

The mistake i'm talking about is Danny, her boyfriend she brings back from the dead. The Danny at the beginning of the story is cute (for being dead), sweet and just wants to spend time with Wren, he needs nothing else.

But as the story goes on Danny changes and that’s when he starts getting creepy. This Danny holds Wren a little too tight, his eyes are a little less friendly, and his skin is a little colder to the touch. This is also when Wren realizes the person she fell in love with is gone, he’s just a shell of who he used to be. It honestly made me scared for Wren to be alone with him.

And then, AND THEN, DANNY does this ONE thing and I was freakin’ the flip out!  My heart was pumping so fast I thought it would explode outta my chest. Talk about a scare.

--> insert paragraph about Gabriel being a helpful friend/love interest who is sweet and kinda funny, yet makes you feel wrong because Danny is still in the picture.

If you don’t find the first 25 chapters upsetting or if they don’t move you in the slightest, chapter 26 will getchya! It’s so poignantly written and the comparison to who Danny was as to who he is now, is without a doubt one of the saddest things i have ever read. This chapter, the last chapter, was heart-breaking and amazing and a bitter-sweet ending to an incredible book.

Cold Kiss isn’t morbid in the slightest, (which I thought it would be) it’s powerful and so much more than a "teenage love story." It's a magical (literally) story that shows the extent people would be willing to go to bring back the person they love. You should should totally add it to your TBR list! 


Favorite Quote that made my heart hurt really bad and had me crying like the over-emotional girl i am:

This book was so lyrically & poetically written that sometimes I wanted to cry(maybe it was just that time of the month) but some of the descriptions were absolutely breathtaking.

If I’m going to be completely honest the first 200 pages (exactly) we really slow for me. It wasn’t that it was bad or I didn’t like it, it was just slow. But as soon as I hit page 200 vrrooommm! It shot off like crazy, so much action, and dialogue and tension and kissing! Eeep! (I like kissies!!)

The plot/dystopian society in itself was the most amazing concept ever. How weird to think that love is a disease you need to be cured from? Even the word love was a no-no, which was just so crazy for me because I whip the word love around more than willow whips her hair back and forth!

The characters were fantastic! I adored Lena, she was strong and the most selfless character i have ever read about. I really liked that she was a teenage girl who saw her flaws. Not many girls admit to being a “stale cookie”. I thought she was just an amazing heroine and you know what!? She deserves to be happy!

Do NOT even get me started on Alex! I loved him from the very beginning! He is the perfectest & sweetest guy ever! As I was reading I kept thinking “when is Alex gunna pop back up!?” He and Lena were so cute I could not even stand it! It was kind of like watching a bunny eat cotton candy… adorbs right!? I thought their relationship developed so naturally and it made it believable. Alex is so upfront and honest and caring and I want him! Yesterday!

Oh-my-goodness gracious the last chapter had me sweating (literally it was really hot in the dorm) holy crap the ending. *mouth drops* I can’t believe that’s how it ended and that’s all I am saying… ALEX *cries* *hugs self* *cries some more* Alex?

I can’t wait for the next installment in the series!! Lauren Oliver is an incredible writer!

Don’t give up on this book, keep trucking through if you feel like stopping, because you wont be disappointed!
