Blog Tour: LIES YOU NEVER TOLD ME ~Playlist

Lies You Never Told Me
Author: Jennifer Donaldson
Publisher: Razorbill
Pub Date: May 29th, 2018
Gabe and Elyse have never met. But they both have something to hide.

Quiet, shy Elyse can't believe it when she's cast as the lead in her Portland high school's production of Romeo and Juliet. Her best friend, Brynn, is usually the star, and Elyse isn't sure she's up to the task. But when someone at rehearsals starts to catch her eye--someone she knows she absolutely shouldn't be with--she can't help but be pulled into the spotlight.

Austin native Gabe is contemplating the unthinkable--breaking up with Sasha, his headstrong, popular girlfriend. She's not going to let him slip through her fingers, though, and when rumors start to circulate around school, he knows she has the power to change his life forever.

Gabe and Elyse both make the mistake of falling for the wrong person, and falling hard. Told in parallel narratives, this twisty, shocking story shows how one bad choice can lead to a spiral of unforeseen consequences that not everyone will survive.

I absolutely LOVED this book and was so happy to be able to create a playlist for it! I thought these songs fit SO WELL with the book and the characters. I hope you enjoy!

Playlist

1. (One of Those) Crazy Girls by Paramore: Sasha to Gabe

What do you mean I got it backwards?
You know we're gonna be forever
Why are you telling me goodbye?
Aren't you gonna stay the night?
Are we really over now?
Maybe I can change your mind

Soon as you walk out my door
I'm gonna call a hundred times
2. Don't Stand So Close by The Police: Mr. Hunter to Elyse
Young teacher, the subject
Of schoolgirl fantasy
She wants him so badly
Knows what she wants to be
Inside her there's longing
This girl's an open page
Book marking, she's so close now
This girl is half his age
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
3. On Purpose by Sabrina Carpenter: Catherine to Gabe
Your words
Didn't mean to heal the hurt
Were coincidentally more than enough
All these days I never thought
That I would need someone so much
Who knew?
But I don't think I ever planned
For this helpless circumstance
With you
You're scared, I'm nervous
But I guess that we did it on purpose, on purpose, on purpose
Baby, I know it's weird, but it's worth it
'Cause I guess that we did it on purpose, on purpose, on purpose

4. Disaster by Jojo: Elyse to Mr. Hunter

I never thought it would end, cuz you got up in my head, in my head like that
You made me happy baby, love is crazy, so amazing
But it's changing, rearranging, I don't think I can take anymore

Cuz the walls burned up and our love fell down
And it turned into whatever, now we're saying never
Feel the fire cuz it's all around
And it's burning for forever and always
We gotta let it go, be on our way
Look for another day, cuz it ain't the same my baby
Watch it all fallin' to the ground
No happy ever after, just disaster

5. Let Me Love You by NeYo: Gabe to Catherine
I can see the pain behind your eyes
It's been there for quite a while
I just wanna be the one to remind you what it is to smile
I would like to show you what true love can really do
Girl let me love you
And I will love you
Until you learn to love yourself
Girl let me love you
And all your trouble
Don't be afraid, girl let me help
Girl let me love you
